A Real Ruqyah Case from the Maldives: From Years of Marriage Delays to Recovery by the Permission of Allah

Case Summary

Country: Maldives
Treatment Type: Online Ruqyah with a three-week in-person follow-up in the Maldives
Treatment Duration: Approximately 12 months
Treatment Method: One-to-one private ruqyah sessions based on the Quran and authentic Sunnah
Outcome: By the permission of Allah, the couple completed their marriage, the patient’s condition improved significantly, and both later shared a public video testimonial about their experience.

Every Story Begins with a Cry for Help

In August 2024, the Ruqyah and Ajwah Center received an inquiry from a gentleman living in the Maldives. His message was not about physical illness alone. Instead, it was about years of repeated disappointment and unanswered questions.

He explained that he wished to marry a woman whom he had known for several years. They had both experienced difficulties in their previous marriages and had eventually developed a sincere intention to marry each other.

However, every time they attempted to complete their Nikah, something unexpected happened.

Plans would suddenly change.

Appointments would be cancelled.

New obstacles would appear without warning.

The marriage contract was postponed again and again despite numerous sincere attempts.

After exhausting every normal explanation, they decided to seek help through ruqyah.

The Online Assessment Session

As with every patient treated at our center, we began with a private online Assessment Session.

During this meeting, both the gentleman and his future wife joined the consultation and carefully explained everything they had experienced over the previous years.

While discussing their situation, the woman shared a deeply personal experience that had affected nearly every aspect of her life.

Several years earlier, she had sought help from someone she believed to be a legitimate ruqyah practitioner.

Unfortunately, she later became convinced that he was not following the teachings of the Quran and authentic Sunnah.

According to her testimony, the individual gradually gained her trust before beginning to behave inappropriately. She explained that he repeatedly instructed her to perform practices that had no basis in Islam, behaved in ways she later recognised as unethical, and attempted to manipulate her emotionally while presenting himself as a religious healer.

Looking back, she believed that this experience contributed to the collapse of her first marriage.

By the time she contacted our center, she had lost confidence in finding genuine Islamic treatment.

A Long List of Unexplained Symptoms

During the assessment, she described a number of symptoms that had continued for years.

Among them were:

  • Persistent fear without a clear cause.
  • Difficulty sleeping at night.
  • Frequent headaches.
  • A strong feeling that someone was constantly following her although nobody could be seen.
  • A growing dislike of remaining inside her own home.
  • Emotional distance from close family members.
  • Repeated disturbing experiences during sleep, including the sensation that someone was lying beside her in bed.
  • Recurrent experiences of sexual assault during sleep.
  • Constant anxiety that affected her daily life.

Her future husband also confirmed that he had witnessed many of these difficulties himself.

After listening carefully to their history, asking detailed questions, and completing the assessment, we explained our understanding of the case according to the principles of ruqyah based upon the Quran and authentic Sunnah.

A personalised treatment program was then prepared specifically for both patients.

Unlike group sessions offered by some centres, every ruqyah session at the Ruqyah and Ajwah Center is conducted privately, allowing each treatment plan to be adjusted according to the patient’s individual condition.

Their journey had finally begun.

Beginning the Daily Ruqyah Program

Because the couple lived thousands of kilometres away from Pakistan, treatment was carried out entirely online.

Some people mistakenly believe that online ruqyah is less effective than attending in person.

This is not our experience.

Whether the patient is physically present or listening remotely, the Quran being recited remains exactly the same. Healing comes only from Allah, not from physical distance.

For this reason, the couple began attending private one-hour ruqyah sessions every day from their home in the Maldives.

They committed themselves fully to the treatment plan and remained in regular contact with the center after every session.

At first, the journey was not easy.

Like many patients with severe spiritual afflictions, the woman reported that several of her symptoms became more intense during the early stages of treatment. On several occasions she experienced severe vomiting, and at times she reported noticing blood during these episodes.

Although these reactions were frightening, they continued the treatment with patience, determination, and trust in Allah.

Their journey had only just begun.

Three Months of Consistent Treatment

The couple remained committed to their daily ruqyah program. Every Sunday through Thursday, they attended a private one-hour session and followed the treatment instructions carefully.

Healing is never measured by a single day. Every patient responds differently, and every case has its own level of difficulty. Throughout those first months, there were encouraging moments as well as challenging ones. The couple understood that consistency was essential, so they continued without giving up.

Approximately three months after beginning the program, an unexpected medical problem developed.

The woman began experiencing severe pain in her left upper arm, exactly where a contraceptive implant had previously been inserted. The pain became increasingly intense until it was difficult for her to tolerate.

Before making any decision, the couple contacted our center to ask whether removing the implant was permissible.

We explained that removing the implant for medical reasons was completely acceptable and advised them to continue following the recommendations of their treating physicians regarding the procedure itself.

An appointment was scheduled at a local hospital in the Maldives.

Neither the couple nor we expected what would happen next.

An Unexpected Medical Emergency

During the procedure to remove the implant, serious complications occurred.

According to the couple, important blood vessels in the arm were damaged during the operation.

Immediately afterwards, the woman’s hand lost almost all movement.

Her fingers became motionless.

The family suddenly found themselves facing an emergency that had nothing to do with their original expectations when they entered the hospital.

That same night, arrangements were made to transfer her urgently to India for specialist vascular surgery.

The situation had become extremely serious.

Emergency Surgery in India

Upon arriving in India, surgeons performed emergency reconstructive surgery in an attempt to restore circulation to the arm.

The operation required blood vessels to be taken from her left leg and transplanted into the damaged arm.

The doctors explained to the family that the outcome was uncertain.

They estimated that the chances of significant recovery were only around fifty percent.

For nearly three weeks, the woman remained admitted to hospital while the medical team monitored the condition of her hand.

The waiting was emotionally exhausting.

Every day the family hoped for signs of improvement.

Every examination brought new uncertainty.

Eventually, there was some encouraging news.

Movement gradually returned to three fingers.

However, two fingers remained completely white with no movement and almost no circulation.

After reviewing her condition, the medical team advised that the two fingers should be amputated to prevent further complications and discussed the possibility of fitting a prosthetic hand in the future.

For the couple, this was one of the darkest moments of their lives.

When the Ruqyah Program Was Interrupted

During the weeks spent in hospital, one important part of their routine had stopped.

Their daily ruqyah sessions.

Because of the emergency surgery, hospital care, medical procedures, and constant examinations, the treatment program that they had followed faithfully for months was interrupted.

After receiving the doctors’ recommendation regarding amputation, the couple contacted our center once again.

They explained everything that had happened.

They also informed us that they had been unable to continue the daily ruqyah sessions during their hospital stay.

We reminded them that consistency is extremely important throughout a ruqyah program.

Just as prescribed medicine is taken regularly according to a doctor’s instructions, spiritual treatment also requires commitment and continuity.

Interrupting treatment before completing the program can delay recovery, especially in difficult cases.

A Decision That Changed Everything

After listening carefully to everything that had happened, we considered the seriousness of the situation.

Although almost the entire treatment program had been conducted online, we felt that this particular case required additional support.

The couple had travelled through months of treatment.

They had endured emotional hardship.

Now they were facing the possibility of losing two fingers.

At that point, we made an offer.

We told them that after they returned home to the Maldives, we would personally travel there to continue their treatment in person.

Our intention was not only to continue the ruqyah program but also to support and reassure the family during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

They immediately accepted the proposal.

After being discharged from hospital and returning to the Maldives, preparations began for our visit.

Neither the couple nor we realised that the first ruqyah session in the Maldives would become one of the most unforgettable moments of the entire treatment journey.

Arriving in the Maldives

After the couple returned from India, I travelled to the Maldives to continue their treatment in person.

For approximately three weeks, we conducted daily private ruqyah sessions and closely monitored her condition. The purpose of the visit was not to replace the online treatment, but to support the family during an exceptionally difficult period and continue the program they had already been following for several months.

Although the medical situation remained serious, we placed our trust in Allah and continued the treatment based upon the Quran and authentic Sunnah.

The First Ruqyah Session

The very first session became one of the most memorable moments of the entire treatment journey.

As the Quran was being recited, the patient began experiencing strong reactions that were consistent with what had been observed throughout her treatment.

During the session, the fingers that had remained almost completely motionless began to move.

Soon afterwards, movement gradually returned throughout the hand.

The couple watched in complete amazement.

Only a short time earlier, they had been informed that two fingers would likely need to be amputated.

Now, by the permission of Allah, movement had begun returning before their eyes during the ruqyah session.

For us, this was not a reason to attribute healing to ourselves.

As Muslims, we firmly believe that healing belongs to Allah alone.

The Quran itself reminds us:

“And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers.”
(Quran 17:82)

Ruqyah is only a means. The One who grants healing is Allah alone.

Three Weeks of Daily Treatment

The improvement did not happen in a single day.

Every day we continued the private ruqyah sessions.

Every day the couple remained committed to the treatment instructions.

Gradually, her condition continued improving.

By the end of the three-week visit, approximately ninety percent of the movement in her hand had returned.

Her fear had reduced significantly.

Her sleep had improved.

Many of the distressing symptoms that had dominated her daily life were becoming less frequent.

Hope had returned to the family.

A Marriage That Had Been Delayed for Years

Before leaving the Maldives, there was one final matter we discussed together.

For years, this couple had attempted to complete their Nikah.

Each attempt had ended with unexpected delays and obstacles.

Considering the remarkable improvement in their circumstances and the progress made during treatment, I advised them not to delay the marriage any longer.

Both of them immediately agreed.

Their families welcomed the decision.

By the permission of Allah, the Nikah was completed successfully.

For the first time in many years, they were finally able to begin their life together as husband and wife.

For all of us, it was a deeply emotional moment.

Continuing the Treatment After Returning to Pakistan

Although my visit to the Maldives had ended, their treatment had not.

After returning to Pakistan, we resumed our regular online ruqyah sessions.

The couple continued following the treatment program exactly as instructed.

Healing is a process.

Even after significant improvement, patients are encouraged to complete the full treatment program. Consistency is one of the most important principles of ruqyah, particularly in long-standing and complex cases.

Over the following months, the remaining symptoms gradually disappeared.

By the permission of Allah, the treatment was successfully completed.

Today, the couple continue to live together as husband and wife, enjoying a stable and peaceful family life.

Their Video Testimonial

Before leaving the Maldives, I asked the couple whether they would be willing to record a video describing their experience.

My reason was simple.

Stories like this are often difficult for people to believe unless they hear directly from the patients themselves.

The couple kindly agreed.

In their own words, they explained their journey, the challenges they faced, the treatment they received, and the improvements they experienced throughout the program.

They also gave us permission to publish the video on the official YouTube channel of the Ruqyah and Ajwah Center so that others facing similar struggles could benefit from hearing their testimony.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did your marriage continue to be delayed for so many years?

According to our assessment, the symptoms were consistent with what we treat as an Ashiq Jinn affliction. Such cases sometimes involve repeated obstacles affecting important areas of a person’s life, including marriage.

Why did you choose online ruqyah instead of travelling?

Because of the distance between the Maldives and Pakistan.

Ruqyah is the recitation of the Quran. Whether the patient is physically present or listening remotely, healing comes only from Allah.

How long did the treatment take?

Approximately one year from the beginning of treatment until all symptoms had resolved by the permission of Allah.

Were the ruqyah sessions daily?

Yes.

Private sessions were held every Sunday through Thursday.

Why did some symptoms become worse at the beginning?

Not every patient experiences this.

However, in some severe cases, symptoms may temporarily become more noticeable during the early stages of treatment before improvement begins.

Did stopping the treatment affect the case?

The daily program was interrupted during the hospital stay.

For this reason, we always advise patients to continue their treatment consistently whenever possible until the program is completed.

Why did the Raqi travel to the Maldives?

Because the case had become extremely difficult, and the family needed both continued treatment and reassurance during a very challenging period.

What happened during the first session in the Maldives?

By the permission of Allah, movement began returning to the affected hand during the ruqyah session, bringing renewed hope to the family.

Why did you continue treatment after improvement?

Visible improvement does not necessarily mean that treatment should stop.

Patients are encouraged to complete the entire program before concluding treatment.

Why is an Assessment Session important?

Every patient is different.

The Assessment Session allows the Raqi to understand the symptoms, evaluate the case, and prepare an individual treatment plan.

Is your treatment based only on the Quran and authentic Sunnah?

Yes.

The Ruqyah and Ajwah Center does not use talismans, magic, unknown rituals, or practices that contradict Islamic teachings.

Can patients outside Pakistan receive treatment?

Yes.

The center provides private online ruqyah sessions for patients worldwide, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, the Gulf countries, Africa, and many other regions.
